Angry MDK 10.1 install fails to recognize 3rd CD

Hi. I'm trying to install Mandrake 10.1 on my system. Everything seems to go smoothly until it asks for the third installation CD. I insert the CD, and it acts as though I inserted a blank or unrelated CD and asks me to insert it. I've burned the CD twice and it has been MD5'd. All should be correct.

If I skip the access of the 3rd CD, it seems to go okay the rest of the install, but then when I reboot it goes haywire. It fails to accept the root username, won't boot KDE and won't even let me reboot.

ARGH!

One suggestion I have for you (If you have a dvdburner)

Is to use the new dvd iso. It's all disks on one, it's awesome, and it worked just fine for me.

I haven't tried the cd's 1 by 1, so I'm not too sure.

Also, I scrolled down, somebody else had a problem with disks 2&3, because they were 10.1, and the disk 1 was 10.0

Make sure you don't have 10.0 disk 3 on accident?

do you have a fast internet connection? if so, you can just install the first cd, have it detect your internet connection, reboot, and then install everything else you need using urpmi.

i did it and it worked just fine for me, but of course, ymmv.

good luck!

No, I checked. The MD5sums match for 10.1. The DVD version is a good idea but I don't have access to anything like that. I appreciate the suggestion however.

Trying as we speak, will keep y'all posted. I'm afraid I'm not crossing my fingers, however. My zest for Linux has long since run dry.
