MDK 10.0 using NEC DVD-writer
Hi,
I keep getting this error when I want to install Mandrake 10.0 Community Edition: 'That CDROM disc does not seem to be a Mandrake Linux installation CDROM. Retry with another disk?' This is my hardware: AMD Athlon XP 2800+ Asrock K7S8X R3.0 512 MB DDR NEC ND2500 DVD-writer Floppy Nvidia Geforce 4 Maxtor 120 GB Harddisk The strange thing is that I don't get this message and the installation will boot to installer on my other machine: AMD Athlon XP 2600+ Asrock K7S8X R3.0 256 MB DDR Samsung Combo-drive (DVD-ROM and CD-RW) Floppy Nvidia Geforce 4 Maxtor 80 GB Harddisk After the first screen I type F1 for advanced options and then 'linux noapic acpi=off' since otherwise the installation will stall (power management features of the MB). I guess it means the installation CD is OK, and something else must be wrong. The DVD-writer is set as secondary master. Could anyone tell me what to do? Psycho |

You might temporarily swap the two CD-RW drives between the two machines. Install Mandrake and then perhaps switch the two CD-RW drives back to their original locations. ___________________________________ Be prepared.
