mdk 10.0 community bugs and problems

Hi all!
I just installed mdk 10.0. and I have this problems:

1) during boot after mount swap and before initializing firewire controller the system loads for about 2-3 minutes, then it works fine.

2) all divx-xvid with ALL software (mplayer-xine-totem,...) plays with inverted colors, not really negative, but strange colors.....

3) in kde sound doesn't work

4) when trying to install nvidia original drivers it outputs an error like "you don't have the kernel sources" although I installed them from mdk CDs (I though video drivers could be the solution for inverted colors)

it is at least strange.... I had mdk 9.2 previously installed without this problems, can anyone help me please????

here's my comp:

ath k7 13333
asus a7a266
512 ddr266
VIDEO: geforce 2 TI
AUDIO: terratec EWX24/96
2 maxtor diamond9plus 80g hdd
LG 52x cdrw
usb keyboard/mouse
CF reader/writer
firewire adapter

please heeeelp!!!!!

Unhappy

I dont know about the entire problem package but I am aware that in mdk 10.0 Community unless you subscribed to the "Mandrake Club" the download only included 3 cd's. there is apparently a fourth that contains 3rd party drivers (ie. NVIDIA) and applications that you only get when you order the "Club" or higher version.

That could explain your NVIDIA issue.

If you don't need firewire, just add nofirewire as a kernel parameter and save that loading time.

That's a bug with nvidia graphic cards. In totem go to edit/preferences/video and slide the hue bar all the way to the left. For the other programs, look for a similar option.

Maybe it's volume is down. Run kmix and slide the master bars up and down and try again.

Hmmm maybe you should double check for those. Go to kde menu/system/configuration/install software and search for kernel-source-versionmdk to see if you can install it. If you can't, why don't you try deinstalling and reinstall (á la windows) and see if it works.

gorgeous... thank you very very very much (is that enough very????)
everything solved....
the problem for videos was hue but.... this is strange.
I tried xine mplayer and totem, all 3 with the same problem.
I changed HUE ONLY in totem and then all 3 worked...... magic!

Firewire.... well I need it actually.... during mdk9.2 boot it didn't take so long, actually it took just a few seconds now I'm talking about minutes....

well then thank you, if you have other clues about this boot issue let me know!

PS: concerning nvidia drivers I just needed the latest version, 2.6kernel compatible
