Hope someone can help:

I am trying to compile the partial source code from Promise for the raid0 fasttrak.o module. It is necessary to install MD10 on an already raid0 system.

Promise never answered previous emails for help so I have not even tried.

I have done it in the past for the 2.4.x kernel (see: www . md92raid.100freemb.com ) but I could not for the 2.6.x kernel. I have a MD10 install hard disk specifically to build the module.

There are big differences between 2.4 and 2.6. Among other things in scsi support (and irq handling):
- The global var "io_request_lock" has dissappeared, I tried to replace it with a call using "SPIN_LOCK_UNLOCKED"
- The "Scsi_Cmnd" structure has changed, I have not found a correction yet
- ... other problems to follow

Could someone help or provide a link on where to find scsi compiling info. Something like how to port code from 2.4 to 2.6 kernel

Or is it even possible since it it partial code, not the entire source.

Hi,

I finally wrote to Promise. They replied:

"Drivers based on the 2.6 kernel will be released late spring/summer . As soon as these drivers become available we will notify you."

I do not regret having bought a Gigabyte motherboard that uses the Promise 20276 chipset for Raid support.
