hey i had the same prob when i installed the brand new samba rpms on my mandrake 9.1 its the rpms i think. they're bunk. try a less recent version and wait till they fix it. that's my advice. I did just that and i'm up and running and waiting till its fixed, or someone else shows me how they did it, cuz i can get an older version up just not the new samba 3.x.x good luck tho
