Mandriva Control Center and WPA_SUPPLICANT

I cant stand Mandriva's Control Center taking control of my wireless stuff like running an instance of wpa_supplicant everytime the machine is rebooted. How can I get Mandriva to not allow the Control Center to take control of my wireless and not having to kill the pid # everytime I want to control the wireless stuff? It is Mandriva 2008 Spring edition.

Just configure the card so that its not activated automatically at boot time. This option should be in MCC -> Network & Internet -> Reconfigure an Interface, select the interface and untick the option to automatically start it at boot.
