Mandriva boots up to command line

I have to use startx to get to KDE. How can I fix it to go straight to the gui? I don't know if this is part of the problem, but at startup it hangs for 1 min. on sendmail.

You can use the gui by going to Mandriva Control Center, boot, and choose to boot graphical environment. You can also become root, open an editor, (type "mc") navigate to /etc/inittab and half way down the file, there is a line that contains ":3:" in it. Change the 3 to a 5 and then reboot. Be careful with the inittab. if you muck it, you'll have to use the rescue option to get back into your system and fix it! Hey, it's more fun that way.
