Mandriva sets a schedule for new version releases, but these are eta's, not set in stone. A second release candidate was made available at the start of the month (I have not heard the reason for it here) so my best guess is that we should see the final release by about mid-month.
The planned release date has been removed from the Mandriva 2010.1_Development WEB Page, but the Mandriva start page promises that Mandriva 2010.1 (Spring) is coming soon (in June) . . .
There has been at least one subtle hint from Mandriva that the next official release (aka mdv 2010.1) will be released under the name of the new owner of the distro, whoever that turns out to be. (Favourite among rumours on the subject seems to be Linagora.) I have no idea what is actually going on. We'll just have to wait and see.

That blog entry simply re-stated (some of) the information that had already been in the public domain for some time. It reads to me like a (hopelessly unsuccessful) "holding operation" intended to stop the rumours, while, presumably, negotiations continued. What I found intriguing was the reference to "new clothes" in this post:
It will be interesting to get the official word, when - and if - it comes. Since both Linagora and Mandriva are supposed to be Open Source organizations, I would have expected them to be a bit more transparent in this transaction. On the other hand, if my Mandriva keeps being the distribution I have used for the past decade, and does not become something else, I will not complain.
It looks as though we may not have to wait too much longer.
Well, looks like a LOT longer to me. It is now the 23rd of June, and there is no final release of 2010.1. It has been more than 7.5 months since the 2001.0 release. It is way overdue. And the development wiki still doesn't even list a PLANNED date for final release. This is not looking good at all.
On the positive side of things, I have just heard that Mandriva has received an infusion of cash (new investors). See This Google Translation of a french language article depicting some details.
Other news: Cooker is frozen, so even with no planned release date, the release should come out fairly soon. My next question is what will they call this release? Perhaps Mandriva Linux 2010 (Summer)?

Reason: Correct spelling
The german "Linux Magazin" had an article 23/06 stating that new investors are bringing money. Mandriva-CEO Arnaud Laprévote did not explain the new business concept which is under developement nor told he who the investors are. But it is quite likely not the large french system vendor linagora.
Mandriva SA could not give the LinuxUser, another german magazine, just a vague release date. Mandriva 2010.1 Spring has been finished for weeks now but is held back for a rebranding by the new owner. The LinuxUser edition 08/2010 should have brought an installation DVD with it and so their deadline for the ISO-files is the 1st of July. However, Mandriva could not guarantee that it comes in time.
