Mandriva 2007 and lame or mp3encode

As per previous post I've just installed Mandriva 2007 Discovery (previously using Mandriva 2005LE).

I went to use Grip but discovered that none of lame or mp3encode were installed. I had the CD isos set up as urpmi sources but couldn't find them on the disk (not really surprising).

Since the easy urmpi site wasn't working over the weekend I couldn't set up any mirror sources (and my normal mirror was being repopulated).

Can I still use the old lame or mp3encode rpms that I have (from 2005LE) to install or should I find a plf source for Mandriva 2007?

Try setting up your repos using smart-urpmi.

All should work

But using the lame from 2005 seems a bad idea to me. Either wait till site is working again and get lame from plf (best solution) or you could compile it yourself (but then you must have compiler and all the library stuff installed).
