mandriva 2007.1 + mysql-max issue

Hello,

I have mandriva 2007.1 installed.

I have mysql up and running. I need
to install mysql-max.

I am getting the following error :

[root@nirvana varun]# rpm -ivh MySQL-Max-5.0.37-2mdv2007.1.i586.rpm
error: Failed dependencies:
MySQL > 4.0.11 conflicts with MySQL-Max-5.0.37-2mdv2007.1.i586
MySQL-Max > 4.0.11 conflicts with MySQL-5.0.37-2mdv2007.1.i586
[root@nirvana varun]#

" MySQL-5.0.37-2mdv2007.1 " is installed.

How do I get out of that?

Thanks

Varun

Try upgrading MySQL-Max instead. Type rpm -Uvh MySQL-Max-5.0.37-2mdv2007.1.i586.rpm. Failing that use the package manager to remove the conflicting packages.

Do Alt & F2 now type: mcc and click run. Input root password and click ok. Now click on the section: Look at installed software and uninstall software packages. In the search box type: mysql then click search. Remove MySQL 4.0.11 & MySQL-Max 4.0.11.

There is no MySQL 4.0.11 & MySQL-Max 4.0.11
installed at all.

[root@nirvana varun]# rpm -qa |grep MySQL
MySQL-client-5.0.37-2mdv2007.1
MySQL-common-5.0.37-2mdv2007.1
MySQL-bench-5.0.37-2mdv2007.1
MySQL-5.0.37-2mdv2007.1
[root@nirvana varun]#

That is what baffles me.

Thanks

Varun
