Hello friends,

I've been watching mandriva since its early development. Generally speaking I was happy about it. Especially with the 2005LE. It was absolutely magnificent.

Till I changed laptop. I have become a proud(!!) owner of a Sony Vaio VGN-FS215B. But here I stop being proud....

Soon after I decide to go dual boot and install Linux2005LE... hm no luck. No recognition of my monitor, wlan or modem (I'll come back 2 that).

Ok, I install 2006b2... Great my monitor looks fine, a new feeling of Mandriva and in general better looking. It took me no more than 3 minutes to find out that there is a bug with ipw2200...

Ok, I instal 2006b3... no luck either. I found some instructions here and there... but it is too much trouble to switch forth and back from windows 2 linux everytime I need to get online or need more instructions...

The funny think is tha MEPIS would do great with Wlan(but now with my sound).

Does anyone have any idea of what's going on?

Finally, Id like to mention that my modem is a Conexant softv92 and I need to purchase the software in order to have a full working modem. Is there any alternative drive I could use???

Please not that even the non-fully working driver was installed properly...

Is it just because this is a beta version?

i install mandriva2006B3 on my desktop, everything is fine except it can't connect to my broadband service.
