Mandriva 2006 won't install

I got a free bootable DVD of Mandriva 2006 and it gets stuck during install when loading my SATA 300 hard drive controller drivers.

I have a KN1 extreme and I can't understand why it's stuck, SuSE 9.2 wasn't. But the hard drive went and I thought i'd try something different.

anyone know how to fix this

Hi my friend!! I installed Mandriva 2006 Free here in my HD. It is running very well. I do not have problems with the instalation. I downloaded the tree CDs. I think that you have to see MD5. Try to download the CDs. I think that can be more better. Good luck! Until soon!

At the moment not all distros are good with SATA, so this maybe your problem if the dvd is ok.

I have this problem too (boot hangs indefinetly at Loading SATA controller)

When you boot the DVD install disc (Cd version willhave same problem)

HIT F1 for more options.

then type

linux noapic

And to make sure you don't get the same problem after finishing install

The last configure screen click configure boot loader.
