Mandriva 2006 Konqueror has trouble with ".pdf" file loading

I get this error message dialog window whenever I use Konqueror browser to look at a "pdf" file.
" Sorry Konqueror " "'Alert sign' ,
Could not find the program '%u'"

Now I know its not loading the program properly, its trying to load KGhostView with the variable "%u" but its not getting it .

When I click OK, it then gives another error message that it can't read the file. Using Xpdf gives a similar error so its in the Konqueror , KDE realm I suspect.

Anyone got any ideas as to how I fix this?

Edit :- along the way I have found this
The Exec line defines what is run when the user selects the action from the menu. We can put any command we want there. The magic in this line is the "%u" which gets replaced with the URL of the image file before the command is run. If our command can accept more than one file at a time we can use "%U" instead. There are other special %values but %u and %U are probably the most useful for servicemenus.

Maybe it is a problem with the .pdf file you are trying to open. Does it do the same thing with every .pdf files? If not, it could be because much of .pdf files are created from MSWord. Let's just say that it does not always make a clean .pdf file.

If this is not the problem, you can try to give the path to Xpdf of KGhostView to Konqueror again. It could be that it got lost somewhere on the way.

Cheers

konqueror -> settings -> file association
