Mandriva 2006 is to block!!!!

I had Mandriva 2005 LE in my acer aspirates 2023wlmi, it worked well, until it had put the kernel for 2.6.14.
When I leave the new mandriva 2006, I formatted the whole pc and I installed it.
Everything ran well to the moment of using. Because it is always to block, ace times it is after being already in the KDE á returns of 15 minutes, or ace times it is really in the outburst.
The keyboard and the whole interface blocks, tends as alternative forces the pc to turn off.
I tried LIVE CD of Mandriva and the same happens, he blocks past some time and ace times is for the outburst.
I already saw at forum that I am not the only with this problem, somebody knows that it drugs put in the mandriva 2006 for this to happen, thanks to that I had to change for UBUNTU. That it is very good also.
I hope they present solutions, because it liked Mandriva.

Greetings

I don't know if it's your problem but I've experienced something similar when I chose the wrong video card driver (the radeon instead of the radeon (fglxr) <-or something like this).
Choosing the first one was the only way to select the right video and display resolution on my laptop.

Have a happy new year, full of solutions for your trouble.

Yeah, well, the problem is the 2006 "stable" release is in fact a beta version: XOrg 6.9, which runs X, is highly unstable with most Radeon and Nvidea cards.

Yeah, it sucks. What I did was return to the 2005 release and hope they will release a true stable version anytime soon...sucks!

Thank you very much for the help

It was already now good that somebody that knows change Xorg for the shell, allowed like this to install a version more stable. Somebody that explains as doing.
And already now which the best version of Xorg for an I "ati mobility radeon 9700."

Forces in those kernel's
