Nope, It is a "Release Candidate", which means it is more stable than a beta, however it may still have some issues, you can expect maybe even one more RC (RC2) after which 2006 final would be out.

I REALLY wish they would release these Release candidates onto a DVD format. They are always on 3 CD's. Do you guys know if it's possible to just copy those 3 CD's onto 1 DVD?
Club members have access to a DVD version, with more packages, as well as an extra CD which can be used with the 3 CDs and which includes proprietary device drivers as well as other applications such as the beta version of OpenOffice.org 2.0.

@futurist
There is a script which converts the 3 cd isos into a dvd iso, search for it, if you cant find it post back.
Mandriva 2006 really looks promising, finally you get the latest stable KDE, I hope they include OpenOffice.org 2.0 and Firefox 1.5(If both are released in time)

it is KDE3.4, firefox 1.0.6.
i already downloaded RC1, but i dont't plan to install right now, wait for RC2 and final release.
I got no DVDROM, i still use CDROM
Oh sorry Micro420, i thought futurist had asked about the cd isos.
I did some "looking around", OpenOffice.org 2 beta will be included with Mandriva 2006(if a stable version is not released), I dont know about firefox though, hopefully there'd be an update for Firefox 1.5, the beta is awesome .

Guess I will have to look for the script that converts the 3 CD's to a DVD.
that's all for now.
Yes, it SAYS they have the DVD's, but when I log in Mandriva club, the download torrents only has up to Beta 2 and that has the DVD, but there is no RC1 with DVD. Are you a club member yourself? Can you show me where on the Mandriva club site that actually has the RC1 DVD????
