Mandriva's partitioning system - Can it partition NTFS relatively flawlessly?

Hi all,

If I get Mandriva LE2005, I was wondering, would it easily be able to partition my current hard drive? It's a SATA 250GB, and currently it's all Windows: C for general stuff, D for backup and E for "system restore".

What I would like to do though is resize C and D, and make them MUCH smaller, and create a SWAP partition, and multiple other partitions for using different Linux distros. I've also been told that it may be a good idea to have a separate partition for /home, although I'm not so sure about how I would go about that.

So, would the latest Mandriva have any problems resizing my NTFS partitions? And would it be able to relatively easily create multiple partitions?

I've tried with SuSE 9.1 Pro, and it won't resize NTFS for me, and I've asked whether 9.3 can, and people say it's the exact same as 9.1 and that it should - Well, 9.1 didn't work for me, so I'm not going to purchase 9.3 on the vague hope that it might.

Thanks all :)

Mandriva should work fine. Just be sure to *defrag* your Windows system (from within Windows) first. Not partition tool (not even Windows tools) will successfully resize ntfs if it is not defragged.
