The mandrake kernels are heavily modified from the kernel.org ones.

Just do "urpmi kernel-source" at a console.
They'll be located at /usr/src/linux.

i tried the command that you suggested and Mandrake 10 doesnt recognize it as a command. And on my computer there is no /usr/src/linux directory. Puzzling isnt it? And as far as where the source is located i meant on my machine. Not on the internet, thanks for the advise though. ANy other suggestions??

I think the 2.6.3 kernel-source is in the third CD.
2.4.25 kernel-source i don't think there is in the CD's.
The command "urpmi" you can use it only as root.

At work on a windoze machine:

Go to install software in config program, type kernel into search box, locate and install. Note there is a new version of the package on mandrake update which will show up after you install the one from CD

I had the same problem with my Radeon driver under Mdk 9.2. This is what worked for me -

Go to rpm.pbone.net and type in kernel-source-2.6.3-7mdk in the search box and hit search. That should take you to a link to download it. Download and install.

Good luck!

As liakoni said, you need to be root to use urpmi.

Urpmi will install programs (or in this case the source) from the CDs, or if you set it up properly, from the internet.

Mandrake doesn't install the sources by default.
