Did you burn off the ISO as an image or did you just copy the .ISO image over to the CD?

If you look at the cd in Windows, do you see a bunch of directories or a single huge file with an .iso extension?

Mandrake 10 for pc's the boot script is not on the first cd, for some reason its on the second. I didn't know that at first so I made a boot floppy and went from there. I dont know about the Mac configuration.

hmm... so if we dont want to use a bootable floppy, we insert the 2nd cd first.
Then what exactly do we do?

When you get the screen Install from: CDROM, it'll tell you the disc isn't the correct one. Just switch for disc 1 and it should go fine from there.

i think

if you are having the same problem as me, set your motherboard to boot from cd rom. insert the second one, let it get up and going, and it will pop up a screen after the installition has started saying it doesnt think the disk in is the correct one. at this time, put the first disk in, and follow the rest of the directions! -tnf

Same thing happend to me - bad burn. It would be usefull if Mandrake made a system like red hat / Fedora to check the cds from start.

CD1 will still not boot (but will for others) reason according to Mandrake : unknown.

CD2 boots fine, but then CD1 must come back in.

I reburned all 3 cds because I got confused ....

But I later found out that only my disc one was wrong, but the message is also stupid.

They could have written something like 'CD 2 in drive. I need CD 1' instead of something like 'this is not a mandrake installation cd'

Hope they will improve it ...
