Mandrake upgrade continues to provide problems...

I finally, at least partially, solved my font problems. Though I've run into more problems that I've found out about since upgrading to 10.1. Here are my current problems, which I'm hoping will be easily fixable.

1. Mandrake update won't work properly. I can select my mirror, but no matter what I select, Mandrake Update doesn't seem to be able to connect to it. I don't seem to be able to connect to any of these FTPs using a web browser either. At the suggestion of someone else, I tried disabling my firewall temporarily to see if that would work, no luck.

2. I've got a Java problem. For example, from trying to run Azureus.

Code:
An unexpected exception has been detected in native code outside the VM.
Unexpected Signal : 11 occurred at PC=0x400E1F21
Function=(null)+0x400E1F21
Library=/lib/tls/libc.so.6
Which obviously means there is a problem with lib/tls/libc.so.6 but what am I supposed to do about it? I'm still pretty much a newbie to Linux, so I haven't got the foggiest idea of what I'm supposed to do to fix or replace this file.

3. And finally, I have a bit of an annoying cosmetic error. Since the update, lists of files, for example an open file dialog, have lines between each of the file names. Hopefully I was clear enough, since it seems I'm prohibited from posting a link to a picture of it...

Any help would be much appreciated.

tried (re)installing libtls.... I had the same problem....

try as root:

urpmi --update --auto --auto-select, and post the output (this is mandrake update ;-) )

I know it probably reeks of newbieism, but I don't know how to go about reinstalling libtls. I'm not exactly sure what it's part of. Is it part of glib? If so, is there any way of installing it without having to remove a bunch of stuff that depends on it?

As for the update, it simply comes back saying "Everything already installed".

I'm being told that there is no such package installed, and when I try to urpmi it, it says that no such package exists.

error: package libtls is not installed

no package named libtls

I have the same problem and urpmi --update --auto --auto-select for me says:
Everything already installed
So I believe 10.1 has something wrong. But is working pretty well for me. I'm just testing mandrake to see if I can put it on my Main HDD, I have gentoo running in the secondary HDD so I will have Mandrake to do everything easy for me and Gentoo to keep everything hard.
