Mandrake Updates....
well wasn't i surprised today when i noticed that over 1/2 the mandrake 9.1 updates to be made had to be downloaded..... (after going thru the trouble of creating a cd last year with all the updates on it)
what a surprise indeed seeing how the whole year i'd go to the update facility and ask it for updates always to be told i was up to date. wasn't i in for a shock when this happened and here i am going around right proud of Linux because it never seems to need any patches.... since when did this come about ??? is it because i am not a mandrake club member ? if this is the case then i'm going to have keep track manually the site where i go for my updates to see for myself whats up to date and what is not feel free to point out to me something i'm just not getting here.... thanks much - perry |
Which easyurpmi/update sources are you using? I know they were slow to update them recently but afaik a year is far too long to go between updates. And if your system was reporting that it was up to date for all that time......
