mandrake update missing signatures

Hi,

Update was working fine, then it stopped working.

No matter how I add sources (URPMI, mandrake update) I get the same message

filename.rpm : Missing Signature (couldn't open file)

The funny thing is, it does find all the RPMs, downloads them to the cache folder. The signatures seem to be there as well, but when I try and install offline, I still get the same error message if the file I'm installing has dependencies!!!

I even get this error when installing from DVD!

I really want to install a DVD-ripper, but they all have tons of dependencies and I have spent literally days trying to sort this out, can anybody help?

I was having this problem two weeks ago. I am not sure whether this actually worked but I tried just doing one at a time (one file plus dependancies) rather than trying to download everything at once. It seemed to work.

But then I had a problem with updating to Official at the end of last week and wiped it and started again. This time I did all the downloads in one go. This is from the Proxad site in Paris.

Edit: I just read another posting that the ftp server being used was no longer supported/connected by/to Mandrake. I did also try other ftp sites. Maybe that's what worked.

hey!

Cheers for the response, but it wasn't that. I formatted and reinstalled (.......again....)
used the same options and it worked.
