Mandrake Update and Kernel Source Files

Alright...Mandrake Update has an update for the new Kernel Source files called "kernel-source-2.4.22-21"...it is 175 mb (seems large) and when I try to install it, I get error messages saying that the signatures are bad (I ignore that) and then it says it can not install it b/c it can not open it...I would like to update the source files OR remove it from the Update menu b/c there is no need for it to be there...how would I do either of these two things?

Thanks,
Chris

The size is fine...

Don't worry about the signatures...it's harmless. That is something they are going to have to address in cooker.

Have you updated the RPM program? If not...do it first.

It should open fine. If not you may have a local problem.

Don't -EVER- remove something from the update menu unless you have actually updated it. It won't hurt a thing being there. I am not sure it'e even possible without adding it to your "do not update" list.

If nothing else works...just install the sources with the Program Manager the regular way.

Maybe configuring Mandrake Update to use a different mirror site (first time I tried it same thing happened), or you could FTP download the kernel source RPM and install it manually. Double clicking an RPM file in Konquer seems to work fine here. The Mandrake Update utility should add the security key for validating signatures though... installing an RPM manually won't (you have to import the key manually too.)
