Mandrake the Magician may decide to change the names of your nics
 

I just got finished getting my adsl connection working again. I have upgraded from 10CE to 10 Official and everything went very smoothly, it only took a couple of minutes. My internet connection didn't work on first boot, however, and it took me a looong time to figure it out. Keep in mind that I am and forever will be a newbie.

I had installed a second nick on this com while using 10CE in order to network with my wife's com using a crossover cable. During the upgrade Mandrake decided that it was more fitting for the original nic, which was eth0, to be renamed eth1, and vice versa for the newer second nic. :tisk: WTF, man? Anyway, I changed up the config using MCC and then used my backup rules for Shorewall to replace all the ones Mandrake erased, and all is good.

Just a heads up for anyone who might have installed a second nic and then upgraded. :)
