Mandrake linux AMD 64 Download?

Hi!
I am looking for a link to download the AMD version of Mandy 10.x
I looked in their site but couldn't find it, unless you buy it.
In the FTP section it is only for the 586, PPC etc

Can someone help me please?
Bittorent would be nice too.

Thanks

Richard

Seems to be gone but the last time I tried it wouldn't even boot anyway. You could try a free as in beer distro like debian or gentoo for amd 64 bit. There seems to be a port of fedora, too but I never tried that and it looks like it isn't really 64 bit anyway.

distro for 64 bits

Ok, it's too bad, I like Mandrake.

I would like to try Suse, but I have a DSL connection, so, I can't install it from FTP unless you know a trick. I tried the 32 bit personnal edition, but you can't compile anything cause there isn't any compiler in that version.

Is gentoo easy too install, as in Mandrake, boot and install??

Well, I used SUSE for a month or so (after using other linux distros in the past, but this was my first serious attempt), and I did everything manually so I could learn linux fast. I printed out the Gentoo Installation Handbook (which was like 200 pages) and I calmly sat down at my box, not knowing what to expect. Let me say, it is not hard to install, but it is complicated. And the guide does not cover unexpected problems. Thankfully gentoo.org has a great forum with all the answers already there. It took about 24 hours to get it all working, but a lot of that was spent sleeping. I did a stage 2 install over the net (with my DSL only going at half speed), but there is a stage3 install which is much easier. Take a look at the Installation Handbook, and if what you see is way too complicated. Just use the 32 bit SUSE. The reason why it doesn't have compilers built in is probably because you didn't install them. You can get gcc and make on the internet. Apparently you have to pay for the AMD64 Mandrake, so SUSE is probably a good choice anyway.

I'd go with Suse in your case but am confused if the downloadable version supports it or not.Gentoo and Debian are more like a work in progress with 64 bit and require some serious fiddling around.

Well, you can always try the RC1 of Mandrake 10.1 x86_64... I've installed it and says "Community" all over the desktop... so, if you won't mind a few crashes that can be solved withan update, you might consider RC1.

P.S.: 64Bit Roxx
