How is your network set up? Which computer does the internet come into, or do you have the 'net coming through a switch/hub? Do you use DHCP for your internal network?

enable your windows XP to sharing internet connection. Then set your gw on your linux box by setting gw:
route add -net default gw [ip of your winxp computer] or when you set your connection use: ifconfig eth0 [linux IP] gw [Win IP] have fun |
Well assuming that they are both hooked up to a router with DHCP, I have also had issues with Mandrake. I don't know why, but it always grabs completely wacky IP adresses for itself. Its a linksys router by the way. If you can't get it to work and you know its attempting to get a number off the DHCP, you might want to try to configure it manually.
