Mandrake kernel 2.4.21-0.25 problems help
 

Hi ppl,

I have Mandrake 9.1 distro installed. I recently tried to update my kernel from 2.4.21-0.13 to xxx.0.25 and compiled this kernel source with exactly same attributes as the older one. First time in my life i cant get the kernel to load.....

-> When i boot and choose xxx.0.25custom kernel it tries to load, but in a few seconds the computer crashes and reboots... no error messages... no syslog entries...

Help me, im desperate cause i want this kernel to work as custom compiled 1 (the default 0.25 works fine), as I thing 0.25 has a working Software suspend option...

Am i missing some file (0.13 compiles and runs fine...) .. Maybe some corrupted files???? Go and figure...:confused:

perhaps a problem with dependancies ? on initscripts or module info

BTW you may try higher versions : 2.4.22 ?
By suspend option, you mean the option for a laptop that enables a quick reboot ? In this case, you may want to wait for Mandrake 9.2 (rc3 is due for next week, in rc1 I saw a suspend option and based on qa comments Mandrake is willing this to work).
