Mandrake Firewall web interface login problem

Hey all, i'm new to posting here(though i've been reading threads here for a while) so hello to everyone!

Anyway on with the problem.

I'm trying to set up a mandrake (or mandrive) LE 2005 box as a router/firewall/webserver to replace a current box we have, which is running a distro called freesco which is based on a 2.0 kernel (which is a bit old for our needs)

I found some instructions on the net for setting up the mandrake firewall web admin interface using the httpd2-naat service which looked like it would do just about everything we wanted.

I got all the packages installed, created some ssl certificates and got the service started. i went to the page it was serving on port 8443 in firefox and tried to login with the newly created admin account (that the setup made automatically). But it won't let me login, the same login page just reappears with a wrong username/password error.

I have tried changeing the password of the admin user account as well as logging in as other users and from differnent networked computers and browsers.

i have looked at a number of how-tos for setting this type of system up but they all say to just use that admin account to login.

anyone have any ideas on why this isn't working?

Thanks in advance

Did you ever get this working at all?

Just install webmin, it has a module to configure shorewall which is the firewall on Mandriva.

Or just configure shorewall directly in /etc/shorewall (instructions at http://www.shorewall.net/)
