Mandrake Doing what it wants
 

I keep setting XMMS as my default media player by "opening with.." and then setting it to remember the application. Mandrake does this for a while before forgetting all about it and choosing its own default. Is there anyway that I can make it stick?

In Control Centre-->File Associations--Known Types. e.g. if you look under audio and select x-mp3 on the right-hand side you will see Application Preference Order in there is a list of applications that can be used to play mp3s, select xmms and move it to the top of the food chain.
