Mandrake boot-time hardware detection
 

Maybe I am doing something wrong. I am using Mandrake 9.2 with a Dell Inspiron 2600, and I finally got both the touchpad and a USB mouse to work together (Yeeeeha!), but there is one thing that is driving me nuts:

Obviously, the USB mouse is not always plugged in, any my XF86Config file takes this into account (the touchpad is the CorePointer). If the USB mouse is not plugged in, and I launch X, the touchpad works fine.

Howerver, at boot time, the "New Hardware Detection" routine keeps letting me know that the USB mouse is not plugged in (duh!) and asks me if I want to do some configuration of /dev/psuax (the touchpad). Basically, if I hit cancel, the boot finishes and X works just fine. The same thing happens if the USB mouse is plugged in during boot..

Is there any way to tell this thing to stop asking me this stuff?

The touchpad is mapped to /dev/psaux and the USB mouse to /dev/usbmouse.
