Nah I didn't B.S. it.

I just didn't expect that the same changes I made previously would also function for you.

Great though.

And don't worry about affero, I'm just very glad it worked!

Thumbs up

opjose,

You rule.

I have been trying to get the wireless to work on my Dell X200 with the TrueMobile 1150 wireless onboard and have had nothing but trouble. I have been chasing down all kinds of different fixes and you did it!

Thanks for all the time you take to help out us idiots that are sometimes chasing our tails.

This also has helped with the next problem I was going to have. Wireless at work is open. I use WEP at home. I was thinking that I was going to have to edit the config file every time I switched locations. What I have done is copy ifcfg-eth1 (eth1) is my wireless connection to ifcfg-home, changed the essid to my home's essid and added the key. Now when I am at work I run "ifup eth1" and at home run "ifup home".

Wow great.

At least someone benefitted from the time I (cough wasted) spent chasing this down....

BTW: there are also other programs especially for KDE which deal with roaming and automatically switching from one AP to another.

I usually use GKRELLM WiFi monitor and set it up so all I have to do is click on it to bring up the WiFi card(s).
