mandrake 9.2 menus

I can't seem to access menudrake from any other user account, but mine. It doesn't even show up on root. I have installed a bunch of rpms, they show up on the menu in my account just fine, but not in other user menus and I can't get menudrake to run in those other accounts to try and fix the problem., any ideas?

Running as root. Mandrake only lets you run a stripped down GUI as root. This is to keep you from running as root for normal things like cruising the net. Having an active root account open is a possible way to gain access to your system.

If one user installs something then only that user normally has use and access to it. If root installs it then normally all users can have access to it if given permision. root can change permision on a app to allow other groups or users access.

hmm...then why does it ask for my root password when I installed them? Well, I solved the problem, sort of, I just did a complete re-install, though that has it's own problems.
