Mandrake 9.2 can't shut off monitor

hi all,

i just switched over to 9.2 and i'm really liking it so far. however, one problem i am having is that for some reason it can't shut the monitor off on my laptop. i have display power management enabled to shut the monitor off after 1 hour, but it never actually shuts it down. any suggestions?

R U sure there is not any interrupt like a key stroke, any other program or a media player disabling the option set by you?

thanks for the reply, yarnar. well, i'm not really sure of much now because when i woke up this morning (i leave my computer on over night) the monitor was shut off. but yesterday morning it was still on when i woke up. i'll report back next time i leave it for more than an hour and say what happened.

well, it appears that the problem is now fixed. not exactly sure how it got fixed, unless perhaps installing the nvidia driver did it. but anyway, at least it's working. thanks again, yarnar.
