Mandrake 9.2 BSOD
I'm stuck at the Linux BSOD.

I did a new install on a dedicated HD for Linux. Everything seemed to go fine with the install but on first boot after it seems to load everything it gets stuck at a BSOD. It's just a blank blue screen with nothing else.

Got past the boot loader fine.
Got past the loading bar screen fine.
Some screen with some text came up with all these OKs on it
Then next just BSOD.

A few questions:

a) Did you configure X correctly during installation?
b) What version of Mandrake are you using?

I'm not sure what you mean by "a" since I'm a total Linux noob. I pretty much did everything default. I tried Mandrake 9.2

I even tried 9.1 after that and I got a different kind of problem. After installing when the computer rebooted for the first time I got blank black screen with "99" all over it on the entire top 1/2 of the screen.

try a text boot and tell us what happens and the errors if any and the point it all stops.

Well, since it seems to hang at the second time Mandrake hides the evil bootmessages I'm betting there's something wrong with your setting for the graphical enviroment.
Is your card nvidia or ati? I've no experience with atis, but I also had pretty much the same kind of problem with my nvidia.

The blue screen after all the text messages sounds like it is having problems with your settings for XFree86. Does the monitor "click" on and off at this point a few times?
