mandrake 9.2 -> 9.1

i just went thru the trouble of going from 9.2 rc2 to 9.1. I seem to have done so quite successfully but now i seem to have a minor problem.

I just can't seem to find j2sdk anywhere in the rpm ?

now while i did purchase 9.0, i downloaded both 9.1 and 9.2.

question is, does 9.1 downloaded have any restrictions on the packages i can install ????

if not then where the heck is my JRE package...

thanks a bunch

ps.
i'm pretty happy with what i see of 9.1 so far, 9.2 was really nice but simply could not deal with it's "unfinished" issues

:newbie:

the jre package does not come with the download edition. You can become a club member and then you'll have access to the rpm through mandrake. The rpm from sun works fine though (at least with 9.1).

i'd gladly become a club member

i'd gladly become a club member, in fact i was at one point when i got my 9.0 off the shelf. at $90.00 Canadian it was part of the package. unfortunately it only lasted a couple months i think. right now i just can't afford it

but thanks for the info, that's what i was wondering...

i'm just happy that i was able to find a rpm that installed the java plugin into mazolla and galeon for me.

to say that i'm not swooning with 9.1 would be an understatement. i'm now doing a backup that i simply could not get to work under 9.0 and it seems to be doing amazing things like uploading to a website of mine as a backup.

backups are going to important to me as in if i manage to screw something up say like a java or java plugin then hopefully my most recent automated daily backup will save the day.

eeeeewwwwww wweee!

:D
