Mandrake 9.1 and Windows XP Boot Menu Problems...

Alright, first of all, I must say that Linux is awesome. I have Red Hat installed on my laptop, but it's like 6 years old, so the Linux runs really slow (well, anything runs slow on that sucker). But, aside from the initial joy of first of all having my Linux work and then my Linux and my Windows both working, I do have one thing that's bugging me.

It's with the boot menu. I got everything to work by following this webpage: morgandavis.net/tools/linux/multiboot.html (add a www in the front of the URL). The way my computer works when it boots up is that it goes to grub, where I can choose Linux, or Windows, or whatnot. Then, if I choose Windows, it goes to the Windows boot loader, where I can choose Windows or even go back to grub again. But, I don't want grub to load, but for it to go straight to the Windows boot loader, because since I am still not very skilled in Linux and I don't have many programs for it yet, I still use my Windows for most of my actual stuff, and play around with Linux.

So, how can I make grub wait and not show up before the Windows boot loader? FYI, I have my hard drive partitioned and everything just like the site above says to have it, with Windows first on the first half of the harddrive, then Linux installed on the second half.

Any help would be much appreciated!

You can remove lilo from the mbr with
/sbin/lilo -u
You can remove grub or lilo from the mbr by booting with a Windows 98 boot floppy (at the prompt, type fdisk /mbr), or by using the Windows XP Recovery Console or the Windows 2000 Recovery Console

Make sure you have a boot floppy to boot Linux.

Personally, I prefer the linux boot menus over the windows.

The following is how I have my laptop and home computer setup with lilo in place of grub:

Make sure your windows boot menu is set to default to Windows, and set the menu timer to 0 so that windows loads automatically.

Set Grub to load Windows by default.
