Mandrake 8 good or not ?
Hello ,
i want ask if Mandrake 8 good or not and i am newbie in linux
and please if any person has ScreenShot for this version and can i upgrade kernel vesion and gnome or kde or others...

Why do you want to load a version that over 3 yr old. Their isn't much support for it. All version are free for the taking why not just download a newer version.

Yeah i agree. Although from what ive heard from a freind, 9 might be better than 10 because 10 is still alittle unstable yet. Ive heard better reviews of 10 on this site though.
Good choice of Mandy though, it's good for beginners.

i don't found any new version  and a distro size very big i need about 3 or 4 days to download all cds

What's your location? You should be able to get the Mandrake 10.0 Official Download Edition cds, maybe including the 4th one, delivered for a few $/£.

Probably cheaper to spend a few days and blanks to burn your own cds then, after checksumming the isos, etc. Having a newer version is definately worth it, these things evolve at a fast pace.

I agree, just download the newest version 10 or 10.1 it is much beter than version 8.
And it is easy to install for everyone.
