Mandrake 10 - unwanted aplications at startup

Hi all, i recently installed mandrake 10, i isntalled the drivers and recompiled the kernel some times, (the included 2.6.3-7mdk) and i finally get everything working. The problem is that now when i boot the system (as normal user) kde starts and launch some aplications (like if the system was not exited correctly) including a konsole, a kwrite document and konqueror. This apps always appear after kde boot, i'm new to linux but i suppose there should be a file that tells the programs to run at boot where i can remove this or another way. Any welp would be appreciated.

Try the "Save Session" KMenu option once you've closed those apps, and also see the settings to stop session saving/autosaving.

Thank you, it worked. Another thing, after i recompiled the kernel i losed the graphical boot interface (not lilo), i mean the one that list all the boot process with an [OK] at the right. Is a way to put it back?

Ok, that's called BootSplash, and your lilo options might just have disabled it. Check the vga lines compared to other entries, and if that fails check you've compiled it in.

While booting is what your talking about right, at least thats my take. And if so your normally given an option for verbose by pressing the Esc button.

Ah yes, are you meaning you get just a nice loading bar, or that you want that (with it's option of verbose mode which overlays the [OK]s) ?

try going to Mandrake Control Center->boot->boot theme & reselecting the theme. if you want more boot themes, in MCC->software management->install type boot in the search & get other bootsplash themes. after installing a theme type lilo -v in a terminal as root to update lilo, then reboot.
