I recently installed MDK because i thought somehow my ps/2 keyboard wasn't working due to my 2.6 kernel in slackware. Turns out the keyboard was broken (same problems in MDK) so i got a new one. While testing the keyboard i came to like the simplicity that is mandrake (especially supermount).
However, the bootsplash didn't work right from the start, and the ATI drivers say they're fine but don't work when compiled against one of the default kernel (missing symbols) or a custom kernel (random reboot just after login or on starting UT2004)
On slackware Ive never had a problem with the ATI drivers with whatever kernel I wanted so was a bit confused as to why this "easy to learn on" distro makes things so hard.
Any suggestions greatly appreciated, but if I dont get this sorted soon it'll be back to Slackware and try and get bootsplash and supermount working on that, at least the ATI problem will be solved.
oh yeah, i have a Radeon 9700pro, but from the problems you probably knew that
