Mandrake 10 Loss of Graphical Interface

When I start my computer, instead of going directly to the graphical interface, it gives me the command line. I have to login and then type "kde". How can I have the graphical interface start when the computer starts?

I haven't used mandrake in a little while, however i do believe that your solution is in the mandrake control center. From there go into boot and then autologon. then set it to login using whatever user you want i nwhatever window manager.

Darn...

My box for that was unchecked and I checked it, but I still start up to my command line.

In KDE, run from console 'XFdrake' and in advanced options answer 'yes' when prompted about starting X automatically.
Tha 'hard' way is to edit /etc/inittab file and change initdefault value from '3' to '5'

Hope this helps
