Mandrake 10, ehh jumped to conclusions :(

I posted before that I liked it alot well ever since I've finally gotten almost the full feel of it and now that I understand which version I dled (the community beta), I realize now that maybe I should have stuck with 9 instead. My version is verrrry weird. It opens OpenOffice up and for some reason it has my OpenOffice in French. It takes about 10 minutes to open up OpenOffice and sometimes when I click on certain things that have nothing to do with an OpenOffice file it still opens.. It drives me nuts how slow me pc is I reallly need my amd xp 2500+ machine soon but cant till the bf is able to find a new job Another thing is I have that "insert cd 4" problem when trying to install files which should be /are on cds 2 &3 .

Plus KDE Theme Manager is not included (not really a bug). I dled it but still can't install it. I did dl qt 3 as i need (but it was the redhat 9 version, only qt available for dl i could find), tried installing kthememanager again and it still says i'm missing qt i feel like an idiot. i unchecked the c libraries installation when installing 10 on the other comp. i should have done that, but then again, i've heard of people having the same 'cd 4' problem with certain installations as well...

i can't wait for the official version ... does anyone know when it is being released??? perhaps for me mandrake is a lost cause and maybe i should try another flavor of linux....

Mandrake 10 Official is already available here.

I don't know if the CD4 prob is fixed or not, but I guess it is. The other alternative is to buy one off eBay.

To stop the CD4 problem, open up MCC and go to Software Management -> Media Manager.
Highlight CD4 & hit "remove". Click OK when you're done and it'll never ask for CD4 again.
