Question Mandrake 10 Dual Boot XP installation steps

Hi guys,
I know this has probably been asked in a number of roundabout ways already but I would just like to clear it up.

I have laptop on XP home. I want to do a dual boot with Mandrake 10. Before I start I would like to know exactly what to do.

Can anybody help?
Please bear in mind that I am pretty much a novice

first you need free space to install mandrake. either reinstall xp leaving space for mandrake or use a program like partition magic in windows to resize the windows partition. then install mandrake to the free space and in the bootloader add the windows partition (maybe mandrake does this for you, i'mnot sure).

i'm not gonna go into detail because this kind of information is all over the web, but if you need elaboration on something, just ask.

You dont have to create any pertitions b4 you start the instilation porgram.

When you are promped to make a partition select (something along the lines of custom partitioning, the bottem one i think) and then you will be taken to a screnn which dipicts your current set up.

There is a buttion the whcih says automatic partitining, or something similar, likc that and then you will see that you big blue xp bar shas srunk a little bit and you have 3 new colours on there, the lunux swap, linux root and /home.

if all i good and u can definatly see the xp partition click ok, or apply.

sorry for spelling mistakes, did this on a double decor bus, very shakey, gtg, my stop.
