Mandrake 10 Community Install Problem

Hi all,
After ditching slack, I decided to go with the slightly friendlier Mandrake, so I downloaded it and burned it, and got straight into a nice GUI for the installer.
But as it starts copying files, it starts telling me that some packages cant be installed, would i like to continue? Yes tries the next package which fails, and No takes me back to the package selection screen.

I know the ISOs are fine as they work under Virtual PC, and I've burned the CDs twice, but the problem still exists.
Any help?

I've had the same problems as you did... I think its most likely to do with your cd-rom drive... maybe too old or whacked? :P I couldn't install it using my old drive (a lite-on 52x bought in 2001), but had no problems with a pioneer 16x dvd drive or the newer lite-on 52x burner.

I half fixed it the first disc worked ok but the second only allowed me to boot into the installer as a workaround. I think its my media, as its only a cheap spindle of white label CD-Rs, but at least i have the core things i need to run mandrake
