Apparently this happens on some pc's with Mandrake 10.0, try to boot using CD2 then swap it for CD1 when prompted.

Problem: Install cd's wont boot.....
Fix: You need to "Burn Image" to the cd..
What you did was cory the .iso to the cd or opened it and copied the files to the cd. You need to Check your help files with your software and use the "burn image" under "File"--Burn Image" not "Write CD"

You got a bad download.
If there was a real problem with the installation CD's there would be nothing but posts to this effect here.
Try searching for a local repository from where you can hopefully download the ISO at a faster speed using something OTHER than dialup.
If this is not an option consider purchasing the disks, at worst case from one of the places that sells them to you for 5.99 USD for the set.
