Mandrake 10 and WinXP? Anyone have problems?

I have been running WindowsXP off of a fat32 partition, and I installed Mandrake 10 only to find that the XP installation would no longer boot because "NTLDR missing." I've read around a little bit and it seems that the problem may only be with fat32 partitions. So I completely reinstalled Windows on a new NTFS partition (I tooled around with LInux enough to know something always goes ridiculously wrong, so I backed everything up first).

Does anyone know if it's safe to install Mandrake 10 again now that XP is on NTFS?

I just wanted a little reassurance before I tried again! :-P

You should have no problem installing Mandrake 10 along with xp as long as xp was installed first and you install boot loader to mbr

So, I set the HD mode the LBA and tried to reinstall Mandrake (with fresh NTFS XP)... now the Mandrake installer freezes every time I try to install it.

Arrrggh!

What if I were to go back and install Mandrake 9.2, then UPGRADE to Mandrake 10? Will that circumnavigate the whole boot loader problem?

Mandrake 9.2 worked fine for me.

I had no problems with Mandrake 10 dual booting with XP Pro, however.... XP is on one hard drive using NTFS and I have another drive that is FAT32 and I installed linux on that drive. Mandrake 10 resized the FAT32 partition and installed without a problem.
