RobNyc 01-19-2005 05:27 PM

You mean your urpmi sources are towards Mandrake Cooker right?

I actually mean the Mandrake 10.2 Cooker Snapshot iso. that it was uploaded on distrowatch around christmas new year's eve holiday.

ftp://ftp.ndlug.nd.edu/pub/Mandrakel...41225.i586.iso

Thats what I Mean

sgrayban 01-19-2005 07:33 PM

ahh not using that sorry i missunderstood you.

RobNyc 01-19-2005 09:06 PM

Is ok , but your using mandrake cooker sources that you got from urpmi ?

sgrayban 01-19-2005 09:11 PM

Thats correct. I installed kde 3.3.2 and its working just fine. But thats all I have installed until I see a few other bugs fixed.

reddazz 01-19-2005 10:24 PM

I am using parts of it as well, with a custom compiled XFCE 4.2 desktop. So far it's mostly working fine but I haven't tried installing KDE or GNOME. Drakconf acts a bit weird at times but it seems like they are reworking the gui or something.

sgrayban 01-19-2005 11:23 PM

ya the drak* programs are getting a make over thats why i havent done a full cooker install.

RobNyc 01-19-2005 11:50 PM

Well I installed the Cooker Iso and it went fine. :)
So I'll use cooker since I'm a up-to-date Freak :)

sgrayban 01-19-2005 11:52 PM

okie dokie have fun.

RobNyc 01-19-2005 11:59 PM

Your urpmi sources are cooker?

reddazz 01-20-2005 05:17 AM

If you install any development version of Mandrake, you have to use cooker urpmi sources. The only thing is that you have to update them frequently because the packages change very rapidly due to on going development and bug fixing.

That's great in some cases like myself am a Cutting Edge (Bleeding Edge) Up To Date Latest Freak but if I encounter any probs then I'll go back to Official, are there any updates for official

reddazz 01-20-2005 12:15 PM

To get any updates for official, you use the rpmdrake updates utility, or configure one for use with urpmi.
