Mandrake 10.1 VS comcast

I've never used linux before. I quit using pcs & switched to sometime last year. However, I still had this dell p4 doing absloutely nothing so I had someone install mandrake 10.1 on it but they never explained how to use it...

I wanted to see if I could get my wireless ubs comcast 'card' to work but comcast said they couldn't help me but I figured I'd ask here... Could someone please help me? You could have to break it down step by step how to install it because yea I have no idea what I'm doing

You need to clearify a little about what is the problem... What country are you in... I suspect US because comcast... If your using Cable, how is it, (the modem) connected to your computer. is it usd? 10base, or router...? If your using DHCP Mandrake should recognize that and set up the broadcast address... What happens if you attempt an Internet connection?

It's a wireless router - when linux loads it doesn't recogonize the ubs card thing - at least that's what I think Elliott had said the problem was... he said I needed to download & install [which I heard is kinda tricky] something so it'll recongize it.
