A release candidate (RC1 for example) is released when they are nearing the final version. It's still not finished and will be buggy. The other version is the final version.

There should be 3 community discs. The community discs are not the same as 10.1 official (the latest version) which has not been released on isos yet.

I suggest you download the RC1 discs. My experience is they are much more stable than the ones from the community edition.

Why not just wait for the Official ISOs? They'll be released in around a couple weeks...Or you can do an ftp install and get 10.1 Official right away.

There are many dozens of freely accessible sites on the net...
Here is one to get you started:
ftp://ftp.rutgers.edu/pub/Mandrakeli...ial/10.1/i586/
All you really need is a small boot CD or other boot routine to get your networking up and connected to that site.
Once you are connected you can perform an FTP install.

RC comes before CE - so CE is RC with fixes. Alike, OE is CE with fixes.
Normally from 'bad' to 'good' is:
alpha, beta (1, 2, 3), RC (1, 2), CE, OE.
Claiming that RC for 10.1 is better than CE is nonsense. It is not. I am speaking from experience here. But 10.1 OE WITHOUT KDE UPTDATES gives more trouble to kde users than CE. In which case, just update.
They have fixed lots of things between CE and OE (read my review for some examples).
You can also install CE, set up urpmi for OE, then update.

Thanks aRTee, that's exactly what I did. (Installed 10.1CE, then used easyurpmi to point to the OE repositories, and did a major update. )
