I'm about to take a tour to Freakout City.
I have had Mandrake 9.1 on my imac g3 computer for a year or so now, and decided to upgrade to 10.1. Everything seemed fine, though I did have difficulty with the bootstrap instillation.
Once I got that solved, and I dealt with some initial kernal problems, the welcome screen actually came up! I rejoiced. But when I put it my password, IT DIDN'T WORK!!
Now, I noticed on the bootup, that the "standard us keyboard" (I think it's called) test ["FAILED"]. My question:
1) Did Mandrake arbitrarily change my password upon upgrade?
2) Is my keyboard maybe in a nonstandard format because of the test fail (for example, when I type 'qwerty', I'm actually typing something like 'asdfgh')?
3) Is the problem something else entirley?
4) Should I just cut my losses and reinstall Mandrake 9.1?
Any help at all would be MOST appreciated.
I love all you Linux people.
