Could someone tell me were i can download Mandrake 10.1 Official ISO's ?
Currently on Mandrake's Website they only have ver 10.1 Community ISO's ?

It is Mandrake's policy to release to Club Members several weeks before they turn it loose to the public.
Personally, I gave up on Mandrake and switched to SimplyMEPIS 2004.4 - it just works. Better updates, better install, better product and better user community.

Mandrake 10.1 Official is available to Mandrake Club members, but it has not been released to the general public. The Mandrake 10.1 Community Edition is out and available to the public. Expect four to six weeks, at least, before Mandrake 10.1 Official is available on download mirrors that are available to the general public.

I think that Mandrake is still good software, but I agree with our other friend, you ought to take a look at Simply MEPIS, http://www.mepis.org/book/view/1462?...28867389eb702c before Mandrake 10.1 Official comes out. You can download it for free or you can donate to the MEPIS project. I recommend it highly. Very functional, usable desktop system. Boots from Live CD, but easily installs to disk from a desktop icon link,

Can't we go back to bashin windows in favour of Linux?

The second part of this answer imho is a flame. Don't write that stuff if not called for. Grow up instead.

And note that the initial poster had no comment about the quality of Mandrakelinux in terms of the updates, installation, product or user community.

Or do an ftp install right now. I did it in about an hour and a half on DSL...

as long as I know there isn't any free downloadable ISO yet for 10.1 Official but you can install from FTP server.

Unfortunately I would like to have downloadable ISO's so I can download it from ther school where I dont have download limits and install it at home.
The kind of connection I have at home has monthly download limits and so if I install from an FTP server I will reach the limits and I can't use Internet 'till next month.

I didnt met a single person who bought a version of Linux yet.
Mandrake Linux 10.1 is worth paying for it's new capacities but dont ever forget that Windows XP is still the best OS.
If I have to pay I prefer to pay for something that surely works on desktops and laptops.

"Hey Linux is free!!!!" but if you want it urgently to put your PC at work (finaly) you will have to pay.
It's like a cientist who has the cure for a desease he accidenaly created and infected a big part of the world.
For those who urgently need the cure they will have to pay? doesnt make sense.

For me Linux is only a hobbie, I install and some weeks after trying to put everything working I end on uninstalling it and wait for the next version. I've been doing this for more that 10 years, from Red Hat to my favorit distro Mandrake wich is getting better and better. But Linux is 10 years or more behind Windows and I believe it will always be like that.
eg: Linux has no plug'n'play, windows has it since 95.

I'm actualy using 10.1 Community and for my ATI card I had to install a new driver and the 3D accel is not working well on KDE, for my Wi-Fi I had to edit startup scripts and install firmware to avoid the system to hang on boot, everytime I want to configure my Wi-Fi network I have the risk of losing previous network configurations, blah blah blah.

Why do I use it then?
Because it's FREE... or it should be... I can do whatever I want with it without having the law at my door asking for the licenses.

I hope they will release the latests ISOs soon.
