well what if i install it w/ cd 1 & 2?.. i had 3 cd-r's... one of them messed up cuz i burned cd 2 with 32x speed.. on the third cd-r i had, i burned it at 8x and it was fine, no error.
I don't really know what packages are on CD1 and 2, but maybe they could be good enough to do a minimal install then you can then install other packages you need from the net via urpmi.
You *can* install a basic system with just CD1. I haven't tried it, myself, though. It may just leave you at a command prompt when it's done: no gui. Then again, you may get at least a minimal gui that way. You *certainly* won't get all the bells and whistles.
For anyone who does anything less than the three-CD install, I strongly recommend visiting EasyUrpmi and setting up your repositories, so you can easily get the rest of the software you want.
